W.A.V.I is a wearable device that is worn as a hat that assists people who are visually impaired to find their favorite products while shopping.

Our Project uses a Camera attached to a hat to get a "point of view" perspective of the user. Connected to this device, is a Bluetooth momentary button that is used to capture an image. Then using machine learning artificial intelligence it determines what the user is touching, recognizes what the product name and brand is, then audibly says the name of the product through a small headphone speaker.

People who have trouble seeing typically have to resort to shopping with a friend, asking a store associate for assistance, or paying someone else to shop for them. This can lead to people feeling helpless and can result in an unsatisfactory shopping experience.

W.A.V.I aims to solve this problem by giving people with visual impairments the independence and ability to make shopping selections on their own.
